Looking for a budget tablet at the moment.

All i will use it for now is watching college lectures, a bit of browsing and the odd book. However ive no experience with android so ill probably find other uses when i check out some apps.

Ive had a good look around and the archos 101 (android 2.2) seems to tick all the boxes @ 199euro ( about £170) delivered.

Theres a cheaper archos at around £100 delivered but its android 2.1 apparently which isnt great and upgrading it causes issues with the touchscreen and apps.

Does anyone have any experience with them or can suggest a better tablet for the price?

Thanks

All that I will say about Archos is that they never worked for me, now these were older models so I will say that they have most likely ironed out these issues (one was a total touchscreen failure). The new kindle might be an option, but I know nothing about it really so look into it first.

If the kindle fire was available now id jump at it. If i had the money id probably just buy a galaxy tab but it defeats the purpose when im just looking for something cheap and portable.

Noroom did you upgrade from android 2.1 to 2.2 ? A lot of reports on the net of touchscreen going faulty after upgrading. tahst why io was looking at the more expensive model with 2.2 preinstalled
