Why is the Ryzen 7 5800x3d so expensive at £320.
As others mention am4 and the 5800x is in a weird spot where it's an EOL product but it's also the fastest CPU money can buy for AM4 and lot of people still have AM4 and 5800x is no longer manufactured so their numbers are dropping.
Basically demand for a 5800x still high from AM4 owners who don't want a new board so yeah the 5800x is gonna have a high price
This is not a new phenomenon either - in the past we've seen some CPUs retain good value when they were the best gaming chip for an old platform that many people owned, people don't want to buy a new board but they are willing to pay a bit extra for a cpu on their old board
