Dahn sarf!
I have managed to set up 2 machine to fold. One is an old Celeron, which I'm getting 92 ish PPD. I dont really expect any more from this.

But I've also managed to get hold of a E6300 machine running at stock. 1st off I installed the GUI client.and was getting 450 - 550 PPD. So I thought I'd be better off utilising both Cores and getting a decent rate going by installing the console version. I only managed to get 150 ish PPD so I wiped all the folders I had created and am now running a single console client. From this, Im only getting 96ish PPD. Is there something I'm doing wrong? The only thing I haven't done is install it as a service, but not something I should really do. If the PC needs to go back, I can just delete the folders.

Any help appreciated.

I think you'd be better of running Win SMP for more ppd.
With console version did you turn on adv methods? that would boost yr ppd although you could still get a poor WU. My current one is 2451 for 243pts & takes about 2 days on my o/ced 4600 x 2

I have adv methods turned, pretty much followed the install guide, less the run as a service. I'm running 5.9 Beta 6. Which one should I use ? The processes shown in task manager are:"fah6-win32-x86.exe" & "fahcore_82.exe"

The current WU is 4533 for 178 points. Its almost halfway thru with 1 Day 30 mins to go. Taking about 20 mins to complete 50000 steps.

The amount of ppd you get depended on the random alocated WU (work unit) standford issue you. On the standard client this can range from ~100-500ppd with a C2D.
So what your getting sound about right.

As you need to give the pc back (in how many days btw) you have two options.
If and only if runing the pc 24/7 use the windows smp client for around 700-1000ppd. The deadlines are 3-4 days and a [email protected] will take about 40-65h to finish a WU

or run two standard clients for 200-1000ppd

Thanks. I was worried that I had set something up wrong. It seemed strange that it dropped so much after ditching the GUI client. I don't think I will have to give the PC back any time soon. There's a couple of hundred sitting the store waiting to be shifted.

I'm a bit confused with the clients. I just double checked and I'm running 6.10 Beta 3 at the moment, but also have 5.04 Beta installed (twice) not running. Which should I be running as a pair ?
