Why such a huge price difference between the 4870X2s?

Hi all - hope you can help me!

I'm looking to buy a 4870X2 for my i7 system from OcUK but there seems to be a rather large price difference between the models that they stock.

See here:

Looking through the specs and searching the forums, I've not come up with any reason for such a large price difference (£71!).

Anyone more informed than I care to shed some light on this?

Hi reflux - thanks for your response.
So it's simply down to OcUK negotiating better deals with their suppliers; there are no differences in the specifications at all?

As far as I can see, the Gainward is the only non-reference design. The other two are the same cards, just with different stickers.

Just go for the cheaper card. There may be minor differences between the cards, but nothing worth anywhere near £70. Different manufacturers can offer different deals to a big reseller like OcUK, and with the fluctuating dollar-pound exchange rates, the time at which big orders were made also has an effect on the price.

Thanks for all your responses.
I was thinking about going for the cheapest card, but I've read somewhere else on here that this is the noisiest, and I do want it to be as quiet as possible (at least when idle).
Based on peoples experiences, is there a particularly quiet version or are they all as noisy as each other?

Had you been on the site a week or so ago you will have had chance to purchase the ASUS version which have their own triple fan coolers...these run quieter than the stock fans and cool even better...your other option is to purchase Arctic Cooling's 3rd party cooler for the card...or do what pretty much most of us have done...water cool :D

Hmmm that's a shame! Those asus coolers look quite a bit better!

Anyway, for now given that the arctic cooler is not available yet in this country and that DX11 cards maybe out in the next couple of months I'll hold fire for a bit as I'm very happy with noise level of my single 4870 that I own currently and don't want to ruin the peace and quiet!

This. It depends what price OcUK can negotiate with the suppliers.

The Gainward has aftermarket cooling, which i would assume is quiter and runs cooler.

Hmmm interesting point. Can anyone provide a source which may prove this?
Sorry, I'm at work at the moment so don't have time to search myself.
Thanks tons :)
