Why the current prices are going to kill PC gaming

As has been said in the thread a few times, I think the big difference now is how much longer you can hold onto hardware and still game.

I game weekly with friends running GTX960s & 1060s, i5 4th Gen CPUs. Systems coming up to 10 years old.
Yet GTA V, Halo Master Chief, Borderlands and plenty of other games all run perfectly fine.
Been doing these gaming session regularly for a few years now, and not once have we had to give a game we wanted to play together a miss because of hardware.

Which I think says more about the types of games we want to play now... and what games are out their. We are after co-op games.

While I loved playing Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 6 and a couple of the more recent Call of Duty games campaign (My PvP days are over!), not sure I could make a convincing argument for building a top-end gaming rig over getting a PS5...
Infact one of the regular players has just purchased a PS5 to use on his 4K Tv for epic single player games instead of upgrading his PC.

Long and short of it, I think PC gaming is anything but dead. The need to have top-end hardware and frequently upgrade? Thats dead.
