Why the hell is Acrobat Reader 435 megabytes?

Lots of suggestions here, cheers, and interesting about the web browsers too like Edge and Chrome. Just jump onto Gmail or Google Drive and they can open PDFs without a reader. Firefox can as well, which is around 300MB on my computer, so still less than the 435MB Adobe Reader.

Obviously something not quite right about your files so seriously you will need to take a look inside your Firefox and Adobe folders why it took too much space and delete the junks waste.

I checked Firefox Nightly I installed on desktop for nearly 6 months and updated daily used only just 152.7MB!

Installed Firefox on VMWare found it only used just 131.2MB.

Here what Adobe Acrobat Reader DC folder tree look like with 265.1MB.

Adobe reader is longer just a PDF reader, it can display and rotate 3d models embedded into the PDF file.
Even isolate subparts etc...

Yes, acrobat reader was always bloated compared to the likes of foxit et al, but the above may explain why it is massive.

I forgotten about 3D models in PDF, Adobe Reader supported 3D models since version 7.0 back in 2005.

I tried download 3D model sample PDF file Spare Part Catalog from Tetra4D site below to view on Edge, Chrome and Firefox as well as many portable PDF readers included Foxit, Sumatra and others cant rotate 3D model.

they could make it an option if it was the smoking gun. not sure many consumer folks need that functionality .?

(but the mechanisms on web sites for rotating products eg white goods/tvs are naff .. maybe fashion is where it's at)

Yep my FF is 145MB.
