why the lack of quality racing games?

why dont microsoft release forza as games for windows? why no grid 2, dirt2, better need for speeds, juiced 3. I need a quality racing game

If you can't find a "quality" racing game on the PC, you're either not looking hard enough, or don't actually know what a quality racing game is.

rFactor is decent, with the right mods.

For out of the box simulation then you have the GTR series (GTR, GTR2 and GTR Revolution). GT Legends is pretty decent too.

GP4 is quite old now, but there are loads of add-ons for it as there is still quite a following.

I agree but I don't think he has the rights to do it anymore. I pretty sure Sony purchased the rights to F1.

Well I know Sony used to have it... but I think Codemasters are making the official F1 game this year?

OP: Have a look at GTR2, GT Legends, rFactor, Live for Speed, GT: Evolution (think thats the name...) - all quality racing games.

I like GTR Evo some of the DL content for it is really good, like the Race King Nordschleife track.

Not tried rFactor, Is it worth getting?

Yep. Very involved, but worth it. Good racing feel from most of the mods i've tried.

The first one was pretty poor, the driving model was awful and pure arcade.

Yup it's decent. My fav modes were the F1 mods, very good online gathering as well.

Codemasters are doing the next F1 game, apparently for PC and consoles. They have some results of their laser-scanned track images out there - looks like they're giving it a good shout.

Very hard to please everyone though, between hardcore sim fans and arcade racers.

Looking forward to the reviews of this one, but prolly not before the end of Summer or thereabouts.

if by hardcore you mean gtr, its not for me, i loved the forza series however for the tuning you could do, and i like the "arcade" styles in grid and dirt.

also the graphics in gtr evolution looked like something from 98!
