Why use a 1500W power supply ?

Just tried my 580 with Furmark (no mod) and prime and got 500w.

Think that 727watts was with my i7 @ 4600mhz & my 580's @ 900 core/ 2150 memory

2x GTX580s and a heavily OC'd i7 2600k only draws 583W.

3 in SLI and same cpu wouldn't need more than 800W technically.

But at the wattage needed, the 1500W PSU might be most efficient, so you might save abit of cash in electric, but spend more now

Chap how much does it draw then.

Very max draw i seen so far is about 740watts (At idle and web browing etc it is between 175 to 180watts)

But i haven't tryed 3DMark Vantage yet (As i don't own/have it)
