Why use Amiga in 2011

What a coincidence!

Watched that this afternoon lol

I was massively into the Amiga back in the day and I've got the urge to set up another Amiga with one of those 4GB compact flash to IDE drives full of games etc. that you can buy off the bay for under £40.

I have a a few Amigas in the loft that I've picked up from car boots over the years. I was going to dig out and set up a A1200 because it's the best but then I thought the A600 is so neat and small and would be easy to slip into a drawer when not in use.

But then comes a problem! to make the most of any Amiga and especially if you hook up an hard drive (which impacts on memory) you need a Accelerator / memory expansion and these things aren't cheap or easy to get hold of.

It would be great to have say an A600 with ACA 630/25 Stealth Accelerator and a 4GB CF/IDE Drive all in one neat little package but this would cost almost £180 to do and I have to ask is it worth it?

I know there's emulation but it's not the same and it's actually the machine itself that appeals to me.

Any thoughts?

Thats awesome, nice demo at the end :)

200 quid for what you got there ain't bad, loads of people throw half of that on their operating system alone
