Hi all,

I have a Pug 307 2.0 TDI 110 (yes it is the worse car i have ever had and will never go puegeot again), Anyway this morning around 7am my wife went out to start it and it turns slowly a couple of times then just clicks a bit, I don't think it is the battery as when not cranking it all the lights and stuff work fine, I was wondering if it were anything to do with the Cold weather (-9 this morning and car is covered in snow), The car worked fine yesterday at around 12pm.

I have checked the coolant which is at minimum but not iced up, Oil is fine, What do you guys think it might be?

I will get the battery out later (a lot more of a chore than you would think, i first have to remove the air filter and a sturdy plastic box) and give it a good charge, also it isnt just the dash lights that are fine, The central locking works fine, the electric windows work fine (when not iced) and the front light on full beam seem just a bright as normal.

Oh and i forgot to mention i have my uncle come over and wack some jump leads on the car with no differance at all.

its a HDI 110 you mean, and yes, the 307 was quite possibly the worst car this decade in reliability terms. complete utter let down coming from the ever-so successful 306 platform.

starter motor knackered maybe? i'd whack the battery on charge anyway just to be safe.

One of the reason why i decided on the 307 was due to having a 306 diesel before which i loved and had no real issues with (until the cam belt went but i think that was the fault of the cowboy i got to change it), And you are correct its the HDI 110.

Gonna try to get the battery out when the wife gets home, Ever tried doing any work on your car when you have a speedy 3 year old running around you and getting bored? :)

All fixed, I Charged the battery then it started fine, I have now replaced the battery which has cost another £100 added to all the money i have spend on this stupid car, Now i need to get an Anti-pollution error fixed that only allow's 2900rpm's before i can sell it, I had this problem before with it and spent around £800 on getting a new high pressure pump fitted (peugeot wanted around £1500) and the message came back again about 6 months ago and won't go.

DO NOT BUY A PEUGEOT 307!!!

Thanks for all the reply's though guys you definetly helped me fix the problem.
