Why won't my games appear on my quickstart menu?

On Vista 64bit Chess Titans appears on the quickstart but Solitaire doesn't. Crysis and Farcry2 don't come up either. I have to go into the games menu to find them. Anyone know why?

Do you mean the Quick Launch bar? Just drag and drop onto it.

Not sure if it is the Quick Launch Bar actually. The start button on the bottom left hand side? Might be my Start Menu?

I can't drag and drop onto it as it vanishes as soon as I click elsewhere.

Right click on the thing you want to put into the start menu, then click "Pin to start menu".

Ahh, got you. That does work, although it puts the icon above the demarcation, with my Explorer and Outlook.

I'm just confused as to why some games that I play regularly don't appear in the start menu, whereas others do. I've only noticed this in Vista, so I'm assuming I've got a setting wrong..

Basically there are two parts to the start menu.

The top part (above the seperator) shows programs you have permanently "PINNED" to the menu.

The bottom part shows programs you most frequently click in the "all programs" list, and it can change a lot.

You can disable the bottom part, so it only shows what you have pinned yourself. I have personally disabled this also, so i can customize the menu as i like, and not have it automatically list by frequency.
