That's pretty much what the 7 year old computers at a shop I worked at looked like. It was horrible cleaning them out and probably took a good few years off my life with all the crap I inhaled. That sticky brown gunk is apparently from smoking around them. Just shows what happens to your lungs.
I had used to do some IT consultancy for a local pottery manufacturer, the PC on the link looks clean compared to some on the shop floor mmmmm clay dust
i love the pic where a mouse has made a den inside the pc, the owner realised something was up when he couldn't turn it on anymore -the mouse had chewed through the power-on switch cable
I once agreed to have a look at a home PC for somebody at work, his wife used it in the main and she was a smoker, brown and yellow stuff inside is all I can recall, she must have blown all her fag smoke straight into the front fan or she used the PC in a non ventilated box
I work in a fabrication company with gougers and welders and we have a few machines on the shopfloor. They all look like that within a year unless I clean them out.
The ones in the offices don;t fair much better. A good half a cm of dust per year builds up in them.
Ick.. I opened my neighbours dead pc the other night, not quite that bad but i did find it hard to breathe for about 12 hours after a lungful. At least i found the cause once i hoovered the sucker
I have seen some pretty disgusting computers in my time, normally it a case of taking them out the the garage, lid off, thenout the the air compressor. Usually gets most of the crap out...
2 in every 3 PCs that come into me aren't too far off that. One I had one a couple of weeks ago that had a dog-end caught in the fan. The bloke wondered what the noise was.
