Why you should clean your pc....

The pics and comments don't half proove it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.

Machines that mess you around all the time get stripped constantly, and when you work inside you always dig out the juvenile dust bunnies (OK there's not enough static in a PC for a true dust "bunny"). Our house server ("guzunda", cos she guzunda the desk), started going a little weird after about 3 years of being untouched. When we looked at her, OMG!, the inside was dust, with some components peeking out of it. The HD's were damned near glowing hot (soon after, 2 of them blew their control boards, fortunately we have about 6 drives of this type and a board swap was performed).

It's probably why so many here are shocked at the state of them, we're all "under the bonnet" types and our fast machines are forever being opened. Much like me though, I bet those with a 2nd, dogsbody machine, let it get rightly smegged up.
Perspex side panels are good, you can't hide from the state of your machine if you can see it.

I do soft cleaning ( hoover CPU fans, mobo, PSU ) every about 2-4 weeks and heavy clean every 6months.

I like having my machines without any dust inside and I always advise everyone to at least hoover the CPU , GPU, and PSU slightly once in a month.

Used to do work on charity computers which were literally thrown out of offices, replace a few fans and get the dust out and they often worked.

Did two machines from a garage once mind, the rubbish they took in caused me to almost expell my lunch through my mouth. :(

i sent my 680i motherboard of to evga in germany for an upgrade to a 780i, subsequently the upgrade was turned down as they said, and i quote "board was not in a like new condition" due to a few tiny dust specks in the mcp heatsink. nothing like some of the fur ball machines described in this thread:confused:
