Hey folks, Christmas greetings to you all.
I am on the fence about pulling the trigger on a new system, I was going to wait for some modest price drops, but port delay issues are likely to maintain costs and reduce availability, so think I'll just bite the bullet.
The ask, is really should I got i7 or 5800. I want a fast system, which will do some Blu-Ray ripping / encoding, gaming, Linux deb use for pentesting tasks and mostly just be my day job daily driver within Windows. I believe either is over-powered for what I need, but I have the choice.
So..., can someone put a persuasive reason to drop another £300 for the Ryzen, or am I simply just wanting the latest thing, for no perceivable enhancement. FYI, I don't see myself getting an AMD video card in the future I don't think.
