Prepare to visit the local haunts of Widow's Bay, from creator Katie Dippold and director Hiro Murai, Matthew Rhys stars in Widow’s Bay, a new original series coming April 29 to Apple TV.

“Widow’s Bay” is a quaint island town 40-miles off the coast of New England. But something lurks beneath the surface. Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) is desperate to revive his struggling community. There’s no wifi, spotty cellular reception, and he must contend with superstitious old locals who believe their island is cursed.

Feel like we've had this story before but I'll give it a watch purely for Matthew Rhys.

Very amusing first 2 episodes, kind of Stephen King meets the Mayor from Jaws dealing with odd superstitious happenings in a summer tourist island.

Matthew Rhys and the cast are great.

Building towards very bad things.

Really enjoyed the first episode, the mix of humour played straight in a horror theme is quite refreshing.

Re the 4th ep -

Did the Island / Curse choose Patricia to kick it all off with the Necronomicon type book , or did someone plant the book for her to find with the same end result ?

Sums it up well. I’m finding the dry humour very funny and did not expect it to be as creepy horror as we’re getting.
Opening it as
folk-law/superstitions and then leaning fully into it is entertaining.
A refreshingly different kind of show.

Started watching this last night because of this thread, got to say, rather enjoying it ! I hope this doesnt end up being another on of "those" streaming shows where we get 1 season and then its cancelled and we dont get any sort of completion of the story.

Hope not, but this isn’t Netflix and I’m not sure if Apple are one to do this generally, think you can count on 1 hand the number of shows Apple may have cancelled.
