Wierd CSS 'Transparancy'

Afternoon all.

I'm having a little trouble with a navbar on a project. Have a play with it Here and you'll see what I mean.

I've copied all the code into a text file if you want to take a gander Linky Linky

Any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

You know as an artist you have the right to adapt the customer's choice.. dont dismiss it.. but once they suggest having the most ridiculous colour scheme ever, suggest maybe some of that colour in some symbol or something and having the BG white?
