Wierd Electric problem!

Calling all sparkies!!!

Every now and again randomly the lights all round the house flicker very quickly and we can hear a low rumbling sound for a few seconds coming from out of no where?! Doesnt affect any other electrical items :confused:

Very hard to describe but very bizzare?!

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you checked the fuse for the lights ring? might be loose. God knows what the rumbling sound is though!

live near any trainlines ? with a loose connection somewhere in your lighting wiring?

the neighbour drilling to china would probably be my guess though

Nearest train line is about 200-300m away...... hmmmm might listen out for trains!

a particularly heavy train going a little bit too fast could cause it. we got similar in our uni halls

Do you have any subwoofers? I only ask because when I on very rare occasions have power fluctuations causing the lights to flicker they sometimes make my subwoofer rumble.

Sounds as if something is taking a high load, but If you dont know what it is then I can't really think of anything. I wouldn't worry too much imo unless it happens too often.

Got 3 subs in the house - I'd say it maybe happens once a week - just more concerned something might go pop at any point?!
