Wierd problem

Dear chaps

I've been refurbing an old computer for my parents. It has an 7600GT AGP card installed

I did a reformat of the drive but when i installed the drivers from nvidia i get loads of black dots on screen?

When i uninstalled the drivers the dots go away??

Any ideas?

Are you using the correct drivers for the Operating System you are using?
Does the graphics card work in the same way as it would with the drivers installed? If so just use the Windows drivers, no harm, it's not as if it's for gaming right?

I would consider stepping back a few generations of driver to see if the AGP support was better, look at their archived driver section.

Firstly many thanks for getting back to me

I tried the drivers that came with the card, they are like 3-4 years and same problem

I could use the windows drivers, problem when browsing the internet it seems so slow and slugglish

I reckon its hardware problem to be honest

Ewwww AGP. I remember my oooooooooold rig having one of those.

Good luck sorting it out though. Worst comes to worse maybe a cheaper newer card for them.
