wierd typing problem in firefox

ok i have a wierd typing problem in firefox - as i am typing everyso often it seems to switch to insert as i type - for example, i typed the title i may have typed 'firefox' but it came out as 'firxofe' - its only doing this in firefox i think - word is fine.

its really really annoying.

here's an example - i'll type the above again:

ok, it seems to be fine in internet explorer aswell - only in firefox have i seen the problem - b not as i type thistu - opps wrong agnia.

definitely firefox only.
 
outlook is fine aswell - i thought i was going mental the last few days!! - at least i know its only in firefonow. x


happened again :confused:
 
I've had this in IE before, for some reason it decides to go back a character on random key presses, totally messing up strings. As has been said, try reinstalling.
 
ok this is typing from my firefox portable - and it seems to be working fine - i guess i'll be reinstalling firefox on the main machine then - arse - i hate finding all my extensions again - but not as much as i am hating retyping my sentences every 5 seconds :p
 
i've just installed firefox 2 over the top (i had version 1.5 before) - i will in a second look up from typing to see if this sentence has actually typed correctly.... wait a second....., and ..... LOOK

damn - not fixed - it came back.

i uninstalled firefox and reinstalled - still there - it happens a lot when i am typing in these types of boxes - i wonder if that has anying to do with it?
