wifi card keeps disabling itself

Hi guys.
I'm having a small problem, I hope someone can help me with it.
My uncle has a Toshiba Equium laptop with a Intel 3945abg wifi card built in running XP Media Centre Edition.
The problem is that the wifi card is listed as disabled in device manager, and if I enable it, then it disables itself again after a few seconds.
I've tried installing the latest drivers and reinstalling the Intel software, but the problem still persists.
Can anyone suggest something to do to try and get it to work?

you dont by any chance have 2 wireless connection software clashing with each other???

I had this happen,

Had the windows wireless connection software

As well as the wireless card hardware software e.g. intel

Had to uninstall one of them (the hardware one) to make them work...?

The card may have come loose from the mini-PCIE slot inside the laptop.
