Wifi problems to router...

My wifi connection keeps dropping for several seconds randomly and frequently over the past 7 days.

I did a ping to the router and got this result;

Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=460ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1293ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=847ms TTL=64

The router is a TalkTalk modem/router connected to fiber.

My wifi dongle is TP Link T4U connected on N.

Any ideas?

Seriously, updated wireless driver? Try changing to channel 1 as well.
 
TBH, I would be hardwired to the router, but its my girl friends place. So i'm stuck with a wifi dongle, as she doesn't want wires pinned everywhere :(

Her favorite line is "Well it seems to be working ok on mine, and I have no wire" grrrr!

To add, i'm also only 2 meters away in line of sight to the router, to add insult to the injury.

If it's two metres away, it really should be perfect signal.

Try a new driver, Snappy Driver Installer is a great tool for finding specific drivers. Take a system restore first.
