Wifi weird issue

Hey guys,

On my laptop which I have just recently formatted and reinstalled everything I have a strange wifi issue. The Wifi light is off yet works fine, then when I switch it on with the toggle switch the light comes on but the wifi stops working.

Any ideas on how I can change this?

What WIFI card are you using (or what laptop if you dont know) and are you on linux or windows?

The laptop is an Acer Extensa 5620, the adapter is a Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter. It's running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Hmm, would be able to help you more in linux TBH, but it may be worthwhile uninstalling the driver in vista's hardware manager, then reboot, and let it re-detect/install the card from the latest drivers over the web (Use a wired connection)

Id try uninstalling it and reinstalling. To be honest it might be controlled by some additional Acer app.
I wouldnt be to bothered about it though, just a light!
