WiFiman causing channel switch?

Hey,

Is this at all possible? I was checking things over on WiFiman as I do now and again on my phone and at the same time in using the app, the AP reported radar signals and switched channels.

Can this sort of app on a phone trigger something like this?

You're using an outdoor channel that has to have DFS enabled in order to use it. Just use an indoor channel (like Zyxel is suggesting). WiFi man itself shouldn't be causing that trigger but dropping back down to the indoor channels removes the need for DFS usage therefore the channel then won't trigger and move.
