Wii Component Cables?

As you may have seen, I've just won a Wii.

I've heard the component gives a much better picture quality, so I want to get one, but it has to be the official one.

The thing is, they don't seem to be in stock ANYWHERE!

So what's the deal? Why are they so rare? Are they fast runners, vicious beasts, particularly good at hiding or... something?

It's odd with the componant cables, they still seem hard to find after 18 months :eek:

(I've had one sat on my shelf since day 1 waiting for me to get an lcd tv).

I think they pop in and out of stock at various retailers fairly quickly so it might be worth placing an order at a couple of them, then cancelling the other(s) when one ships.

I have a component cable for my Wii and although i agree that it does make text and menus noticeably sharper it only supports up to 480p. I bought one, but dont tend to use it as i have my 360 plugged into the components slots instead. Worth a tenner if you can find one!

Well I've been ringing round a few places and finally found one!

Just got back from buying it (£20 - not bad I suppose, considering it's official and nowhere else has them in stock) and I've got to say it does actually look much clearer, even the colours are slighty better.
