This is my main worry about the Wii, i get the feeling that it might be a passing fad. Once the novelty has worn off on the new control system is it really going to continue to be popular.
Got a similar worry myself, and that's as you've said there are a lot of developers out there that are going to literally flood the market with nothing short of rubbish which could have an impact on the Wii.
There's only going to be so many sword fighting games, laser swords, battle swords, swords that go whoooosh, swords that go wham and swords that you can wave in the air to summon an army of ghost swords.
Whilst I'm all for development, Nintendo really must either shake off these Disney tie ins like "Poppy goes Fishing in Buttercup Park for Fluffy Flutterflies" or create a more serious division for their games for the senior gamers.
Tai Chi would be great, a more serious boxing, Grand Theft Auto where you use the Wiimote to drive the car, turn it vertically to use as a joystick in flight, swish it back and forth like a baseball bat, or hold it like a gun for, er, a gun.
There's a whole new world now waiting to be discovered in gaming, Nintendo are giving the tools but it's down to the developers to make a Venus de Milo or an Eternal Beau crockery set.
