Wii...is it any better now?

I'm probably the 20 seconds ahead guy :p

Learn snaking (loads of youtube videos), Nintendo added it to give advanced players the edge.

On the DS you can snake all the way throughout every single course, but on the Wii there are a few sections you can't (very narrow long straights) but you can snake through most of the tracks and use the bikes boost where you can't.

I don't own a wii... but own the other two consoles. (also a PC) I find it funny that all my friends told me the "wii is so much better and more innovative than the other consoles" now barely play it themselves,

I was neutral on it... now I am a 100 percent I won't purchase one.

I assume you're not including previous iterations of Mario Kart in that *? Mario Kart Wii, whilst fun, is the worst version of Mario Kart ever released. What a terrible selection of tracks!

You're better off with a GameCube than a Wii, IMO.

I'm afraid you don't understand Mario Kart.

Mario Kart Wii is the best in the series. Simply because of manual bikes. Manual bikes with a Wii remote and nunchuck completely obliterate any other Mario Kart style and control. Double Dash really isn't that great and I wasn't a fan of Mario Kart DS either, though I am thankful for Delfino Square. MK Wii offers quite a decent selection of tracks, such as Maple Tree Way and the Wii version of Rainbow Road. I do admit a few more originals would have been better. However it does offer a few personal favourites of mine such as DK's Jungle Parkway and Sherbet Land, notably from imo the 2nd best version of Mario Kart, 64. I wasn't overally pleased with the Wii version of DK Parkway. There were 2 slight annoyances, such as the jump over the lake at the start. I use to love using this to cut the track, in the Wii version though you can't go off it at an angle, it just plays an animated sequence as you hit it. You don't get attacked by large spiked balls either if you head to far onto the grass!

Online is another obvious reason why MK Wii is the best. Online is only easy until you hit 9k. If you really think you're the best in the world then wait until you are matched with a load of other 9k'ers that all think the same.

The back to basics style and implementation of manual bikes plus the Wii remote style plus online imo makes Mario Kart Wii the best.
