Its far better looking than most consoles. Actually something that would fit properly in a lounge and not look like a toy.

720p support would be nice for the Wii, DVD playback would be quite handy too.
Lies, the PanasonicQ looks like a 6 years olds plastic boombox. It's cheap looking.

By that reckoning, the 360, PS3, normal Gamecube, Xbox, PS2 etc etc. look like fisher price toys :p

hope it's something quite big, extra remote / game would be really good.

Nintendo seem to do this a lot don't they. wsan't the DS touch screen mentioned last minute aswell ?

I think the suprise is that its delayed until 2009... or that 50% of them will die with just 3 blinking red lights for comfort... or that the power supply is the size of a small car. ;)

I read somewhere that the secret is going to be a holographic projector! Hmm...

Nope, that was a speculation pre E3 that Nintendo were incorporating a laser projector into the controller/console because they'd filed a patent of that technology.

Maybe Wii2.

nintendo said the wii wont sport a DVD player apart from in a SE in JPN because the cost was inherantly bad compared to the lowcost DVD players available in europe?

also, i think the Gamecube can be modded to play DVDs!

I reckon its release date will be moved a week early!

Thats what was told to me when i was in a local game store as there yield rate was excellent!

Wouldn't DVD playback be easily added at a later date with a software download? Or does the drive itself need special chips to deal with region coding etc?

I think people get far too excited and over hype these "secrets", it's almost always a dissapointment. The speculation is fun though.

Software would be enough.

The problem is the associated license fees for supporting DVD playback. It's why it was going to be an optional dongle much like how you had to buy the remote control for the original xbox to enable the DVD playback - so the license royalty would be covered as part of that price.

The secret has been and gone matey.

Wasn't anything to do with us, hence why I didn't post. It was the reviewers and press kits were delivered in Ice-Cream vans over the weekend. Booooooring.
