Wii or 360!

I've pretty much made my mind up that I'm getting a console but for the life of me I just can't decide between the two!

The Wii was the console that originally got me wanting a console because it looked like awesome fun but then loads of people have been saying it won't have titles like the 360 will have and will be shrugged aside by the 360 and PS3.

I've only played the 360 in stores where they've had games that suck and seem to lag when things start to get hectic which concerns me a bit. I doubt I'll get to try one out anywhere either.

Another reason I want a console is the fact I want to play more games with my mates and I can just see the Wii being so much fun!

I'm only going to buy one console and if it can't tear me away from the PC it would have been a waste of money so please help me decide or maybe I should just wait it out till the new year?

Damn my indecisiveness!

That's not exactly true...

Anyway, I'd wait until you get a chance to play on both a Wii and a 360. The Wii is never going to have the same graphical power as the 360, but it should be able to make up for it through gameplay. Remember the Wii is not in direct competition with the 360/PS3, for the most part anyway. It'll have some crossplatform titles, but they'll usually have a different control system and the graphics toned down dramatically.

If I was doing it now, personally, I'd go for a Wii. You wont get Wii games on the PC, well as much as you get 360/PS3 games on the PC anyway.

I would suggest waiting until launch. They say there should be enough Wii to go around (Oh how the jokes just write themselves, and I didn't even meant to).

Give the games a go, see which ones you like, and decide from there. There might be some good bundles to pick from which might help.

Go for a Wii. I find having plenty of booze and four way Mario Kart/Smash Bros hanging around encourages friends to drop by and everybody has a bit of crack. Nintendo have a strong track record for creating fun games both multi player and single player ones. I can understand your dilemma as the 360 is a great console and kicks ass in the graphics dept. but decide on which console you actually see yourself getting the most fun out of and play time. I'm getting a Wii but then I have a high powered PC as well.

I can pre order Wii games for 27.99 too. :D

Is there a way to use the 360 as a multimedia center like the xbox? That would probably sway me in the way of the 360 if I were to use it a different room.

So far from true.
Gears of War and Dead Rising spring to mind, both are fantastic and Xbox360 only. Then there is Call of Duty 3 out in 2 weeks time, Smackdown vs Raw, Viva Pinata and Forza 2.

Gears of War will definitely come across to Windows Vista in a couple of years. Just like Halo and Halo 2 before it. I wouldn't be surprised if Viva Pinata didn't too as it looks to have kiddie-appeal like the Sims.

Halo 2 came out on PC! *Gets wallet out*

Windows still doesn't have Halo2 and Gears of War was programmed specifically for the Tri-Core, it would take a hellish coding job to make it dual core or less.

Halo also struggled on most PC's when that was released. Games that are coded specifically for consoles are often the hardest to port. Capcom said that a PC was simply incapable of rendering Dead Rising as it currently is due to the level of Zombies on-screen as it was the first game to fully use all 3 Xbox360 cores.

If you're comparing XBMC or XBMP with what you can do on the 360 then the answer is no, not really.
The 360 can stream MP3 and WMV but it lacks the sheer awesomeness of XBMC.

From a personal standpoint, I would not consider a Wii to be my first and only console. There isn't that many games that interest me on it, (and believe me I have looked a few times). The only ones I can think of, is maybe a Resident Evil, Mario and Zelda, plus one or 2 others.

On the 360, I am literally spoiled for choice. 5 Games coming out this month that I really want. As for if they come out on the PC, thats not really an issue if you want a console. Playing on live is a more easy/fast experience than PC's anyway. Its almost like Steam but on steriods, (oh, and has a friends list that works too).

A friend is going to get a Wii on launch, so I will probablly try it out and think its nice, and buy one after xmas (maybe march) but for me, I would grab a 360, get Gears Of War, maybe COD3... heck I cant actually decide.... too many games out in the next few months :(

I know, I had my order in and pulled out due to short funds (especially with another hell month for 360 titles).

I need One Tree Hill Season 3 and 24 Season 5 (have all the others - obviously!).

Don't suppose you want to charity me? :).
