Wii or 360?

i have both and its easy to say which is the better system for the single bloke, but the xbox has some problems as a console under the TV for me, it's to big to fit under my TV first, it's to loud even for my liking and you realy need a TV that supports a resolution of 1920x1080 to make it shine. it's more of a PC than a console and i dont think my wife will ever let it in the living room again, i would even go so far as to say it offends her. The wii on the other hand is very welcome in the living room, i love it, my 3 year old love's it, my mate's fight over it, and even my wife has a soft spot for it. for a little box of tricks under the TV the wii for all it's short coming's is fantastic and if i had to pick one it would be the nintendo.

You sound on a different planet to be honest, Ok depending on what you mean by hardcore, the Dreamcast had online FPS with keyboard and mouse in high def using VGA 6-7 years ago.
So again what did Microsoft bring that was new with the 360?

I was referring to PC gaming there - I'm a FPS fan on the PC and used to it kinda sucking the fun out of gaming due to being so very competative, and the Xbox 360 put the fun factor back in my games

I have a laugh with my kids playing Cooking Mama, a laugh with the Mrs on Wii play or Wii sports.
My point proven - it's a console for kids/moms/dads

With regards to those games - yes it's personal pref - none of those games looked any good to me at all, maybe resi - but again, then you need to play it with those crap controllers

if u have limited access to real life people get the 360, if u have friends gets the wii

my bro has the 360 so ive got access to both, but as Ive always been a keen pc gamer ive never seen the point in the ms console

and give the wii controler a chance even my granma can use it

I disagree though. If you happen to have friends who are also Gamers then the Xbox 360 is just as multiplayer friendly. There's plenty of great multiplayer experiences on the Xbox 360 from two-player co-op Gears of War to four-player Pro Evolution (and soon Halo 3).

If your friends are less geeky then the Wii does win. My girlfriend will play Wii, my dad will play Wii, my dog would play Wii if we let him.

From what you said in the OP I would say definately go for the Wii. Sounds like you do most of your gaming on the PC and want a console for fun games with mates - that's exactly what the Wii is all about IMO.

Resi 4, Red Steel, Mobile Suit Gundam, Manhunt 2, Eternal darkness are not for mums and dads

Im really not getting why western males have this negative attitude towards gaming when it isnt doing something manly

Arcades 1970s/80s
Atari
Amiga
Nintendo
Sega
Sony
Microsoft

Any one care to break up the above into what was for hardcore gamers and what was for kids/mums and dads?
I remember it all being incredibly geeky and damaging to street cred apart from the Arcades

What are you on about?
Yes it has a couple of games that aren't for kids, but the very very vast majority of them are. also, have you not seen Nintendo's E3 showing - from a Nintendo fan's perspective, it was a pathetic showing. Nintendo has pretty much turned their back completely on the gamers, and went for their mom's in stead... Wii Yoga or wtf ever they call all that rubbish

I was scared to play RE4 with the Wiimote but actually aiming with it you can be mega accurate so it works really well.

haha, excellent.

For the record, I played a Wii for the first time today with a bunch of lads from work...AND MY GOD ITS BRILLIANT LOL.

Couple of Stellas and Wii sports is a brilliant way to spend an evening.

And i have to say, Yes i love the 360, and i love the PS3, But i've never had a console make me laugh and smile as much as the Wii, yes maybe it was down to the fact we were messing around and kinda tispy. But we've done that on the 360 before, and it just wasnt the same. Taking it in turns to get mutilated on Dead rising isnt exactly on the same playing field.

Both consoles are good and have little overlap.
I would say get a Wii and then see if for any reason you want anything more or different.
