Wii problem ?

Saw this on engadget, personally I'm slightly sceptical that the wrist strap broke. It would have to have a fault to begin with as there would be no way you could generate enough force to snap it IMO.

Flying remotes were always a possibility though I guess :p

How much force was this guy playing with?

Can imagine him wittling down the strap and asking for compo :D

The only way i can see the strap being under that kind of strain is if the guy is contantly letting the remote swing or come out of his hand and strain against the strap

that’s like suing a baseball bat company because you hit yourself with it. people just need to hold on tighter, what the hell is the problem??

I think this guy has it right in the comments on the page.

Surely he had to of not even been HOLDING the controller? I sertainly wouldn't have it just hanging off my wrist, aren't you kind of meant to hold the controller too??

Well he was playing a bowling game, so its probably a reflex action to "let go" once you reach a certain point of your swing. Nintendo put that strap on the wiimote for a reason - if its too weak then they have a problem imo.

Considering most people arent going to be playing in huge rooms, Im still waiting for some kid to get a bit overexcited playing Wii sports and swing the controller in his friend/brothers face. No doubt causing some kind of injury that the parents will try and get some money out of ;)

Considering from what I've heard (could be wrong) the bowling is more or less done entirely with the joystick stick rather than the motion sensor i doubt it.

Yes, but it's not actual bowling. You're not supposed to throw the remote at the tv.

That's rubbish for sure, i played Bowling on Saturday. The joystick is used to move your little guy left and right, that's it. Once you've moved him where you want him to go, you pull on the trigger underneath the remote and do the swing. During the swing you twist the controller in the direction you want the ball to curve. Therefore the joystick has 0 control on where the ball goes or how fast it bowls.

I saw somewhere that Nintendo will be doing Wii dogtags, on the page this was on a lot of people where asking what these were for and one bright spark replied somthing like "so relatives will be able to identify the mangled bodies of those killed by flying wiimotes" lmao :D
