Got a Wii package for xmas including mario galaxy , resident evil 4 and harry potter. Stupidly i sold harry potter before testing the console out and found that the disk drive is broken

Argos (were i bought it from) mention that you need to return the entire package to the local depot- but obviously i cant do that and they dont seem to stock single wii console's

Any ideas would be welcome- is it within my rights to make them change the wii anyway?

Phone up Nintendo, they will ship you a brand new console out.

I am wondering if my disk drive is dodgy. Sometimes it fails to read discs and requires putting them in and out several times.

I know this may sound silly - but have you put the disc in the right way?? I put it in the wrong way once, without really thinking about it...

/shame

shouldn't think so, I put the disk facing the way the manual said, and it made a wierd grinding noise

oh, i didnt read the manual... I just put it in the way that felt natural to me which was shiny side facing right. Obviously when it didnt work I quickly realised that it was more logical for the dvd laser to be situated to the left of the slot so switched it round.
