I've finally managed to pick a Wii up for a shop at rrp :)

Now just gotta get some games, also do all Gamecube games play on this?

What else is a must have for these?

Thanks

If not a lot of shops that do second hand games etc have em cheap as chips.

Also you will need a classic controller for virtual console. I also recommend a component or RGB cable.

Then you need to buy Mario galaxy, Resi Evil 4, Zelda and Guitar Hero 3.

Enjoy ;)

I've played pretty much all the virtual console games either using the Wiimote on it's own or the GC controller.
How?

I can't imagine playing Virtual Console games with a Wiimote anyway because of it's layout.

shiner, 'Super Mario Galaxy' is pretty much a "must have" game so be sure to pick that up if you can find anywhere that stocks it.

you just turn the wiimote to the side and use it like any other controller. or just use a GC controller

The Wii mote doubles up as a NES controller if you turn it on it's side. Only works for NES VC games though, for everything else you need a classic controller or a GC controller. I've never been able to get my GC controller working on the VC though, but no biggie since I have a classic too.

so is the classic basically a modern GC controller?

Will get them rather than 2nd hand GC ones if thats the case

Has anyone tried the newish third-party GC controllers they're stocking at [shop what I cannot mention guv]? They have wireless ones, and since finding Wavebirds is a trawl through ebay, I was wondering if those were comparable. Usually I swear off ever touching third-party peripherals, but the effort seems to balance it out in this case.

The wiimote works for Mega Drive and Turbografx games too. :)

Also, have you tried holding R when loading a game with the GC controller in?

I can't remember if you need to hold R with every game, but I know I do it when we mix the wavebirds and the remotes for Bomberman.

If you want a game you can play with your other half, get Rayman raving rabbids and or Wario ware.

If you want to play on your own then i really recommend getting Mario Galaxy, its a sublime game and is enjoyable as much as Mario 64. Zelda is also a very worthy purchase.

Their are also quite a lot of other games out that i would recommend but i would stick to a few games before you get carried away with all the suggestions people will make.

Thanks for all suggestions

I think I'm going to get

Wario & Rayman Raving Rabbids as had these suggested a few times and then go from there, its mainly for the other half as I'm glued to burnout on the PS3....
