Wii screen problem

Powered up my Wii today which is only 2 weeks old and theres light grey lines but only when its a white screen like the menu. You can make them out on other screens but barely visible.

is this a video problem or is there a fix?

Tried other combinations of TVs and cables? If so it's a duffer and needs to be sent back.

If you mean on the Wii menu, i have them also

I just presumed thats how it was supposed to be :confused:

Never noticed it only in menu screen though

You mean these lines? If so then yes its normal (Unfortunately) ,It only happens in 480P mode:

From that sorta looks like your screen res could be screwed?, if you're using HD, try a differend dpi?

Are you using 50 or 60Hz? A lot of tvs don't like 60Hz, try 50 and see what happens.

Nope not them lines, these are small and appear in random areas. On my 42" plasma they are roughly 1-2 inches long. and if a Mii is on screen there are sometimes several around him.

Ah that's a well known problem with the GameCube. I noticed it in the sky on Wind Waker on the GameCube (not Wii) and also in parts of the twilight princess (On the Wii) . It's not your TV or your Wii, it appears to be a built in fault with the graphics architecture/Nintendo's coding when tiling a block colour.
