Amazon are now selling the White (8gb) Wii U for 149, like ASDA.

I think that's the time when all the good games are going to come though - August for Pikmin 3 and then through the holiday season.

I'd still not buy one if it was £99 right now. But by then I'd hope we'd have some concrete details on some ambitious 1st party titles in the works. If the next Mario is as good as Galaxy for example, then £99 starts to sound appealing.

I think it might be in their longer term interests to get these down to £99 as soon as they can before the next gen is actually shown and with proper release dates. The PS4 could still be a year away for Europe. But the moment that (if) they announce a date in October/November and with a price that isn't too scary, people will just wait it out.

The PS4 is rumoured to have a worldwide release so I think as soon as there is firm date for release we will see another drop in price from Nintendo.

The wii still sold well whilst other next gen consoles were available. I'm sure the Wii U will be fine as well.

Wii had a (worthwhile) USP though in motion control - there was a genuine reason to have one regardless of other consoles. Wii U doesn't seem to offer anything special that I can see so it has to rely on games.

I picked one up with this deal over the weekend (wanted a white one anyway as I hated the plastic on the black wii.) I love a good zombie game so got a copy of zombiu as well.
I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I was sceptical that the gamepad would add much but, with zombiu at least, its awesome. Having all your items on the touchscreen as well as a map and numerous other gadgets is great and the extra sound source really adds to the atmosphere. Also the graphics are pretty tidy and it's got some of the best lighting I've seen in a console game.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. Can't wait for wind waker hd and will definitely pick up monster hunter at some point.

How do u get VAT back?

I thought other EU states can't recover VAT when bought from other EU states. Unless its business purchase?

I have special privileges for working in Brussels

one of them being I can claim VAT for pretty much anything.

When I buy stuff from Amazon though I get charged VAT and the Belgian rate (21%) but then I can claim that back from Amazon.
