What res does the Wii output at for web browser usage then? (I can output at a dizzy 1024x768 with my PC and my SDTV ;) Although 800x600 for movies is optimal.)

No idea about the res on the Wii but I was responding to your comment about using your TV with your PC :)

1024x768 should look rather decent on a HDTV.

I really like the Wii Menus simple clean and fresh.

When i get an HDTv in the summer for my ps3. I can see myself using the Wii Browers to put a few bets on the football or ponies from my armchair :)

The wiimote range is not that great, so if you're more than about 6 feet away you won't be placing any bets, not on the right team/horse/dog anyway.

It looks okay on a SDTV, my point was really that viewing the web on a television is more awkward because it tends to be further away from you than a PC screen which you sit a few inches away from :)

(the difference between an HDTV and SDTV is resolution rather than necessarily physical size of course)

How many people here will browse the web on their games console very often?

Not that bad tbh. I was forced to use it when I fubared my DS3 updating bios and had no Pc for a week.

Just a bit hard to read the text due to my TV and Res

Does the Wii come with a keyboard or do you have to piddle about selecting letters with the Wiimote?

Wiimote only. Good for browsing, bad for posting. Apparently most people just look at pictures on the net and don't type anything, or very little at least.

Less posts per day than you though which quite obviously and inarguably therefore means that mine are of higher quality  ;)

Bwahahahahahahahaha. You have more posts per day than ElRazur... are his posts of higher quality than yours? Hmm actually I see your point :p :D

Agree that web on a console is a bit of a gimmick tbh - in no way will I ever pay for this, Nintendo/Opera - big mistake charging for web. I suppose it'd be useful if both my PCs break down at the same time but the chances of that are pretty slim.

I've been waiting for this [yea I know, sad, but I like using the internets on my wii].
When I saw it glowing this morning I was like oooo, then checked wiifanboy then was like OMG *rush downstairs and installs*

Oh, and they still haven't fixed the issue where you aren't able to play some virtual console games using the component cable. Was kind of hoping that this would have been fixed with the update :(

It's free...

dirtydog - it's not the easiest to use without being able to type, but it does have predictive text which is good and also knows common pre and suffixes. The actual browsing is very comfortable - good for YouTubin' etc.
