Wii, what do i need?

Father-In-law has given us his 2nd hand Wii as he never used it. It has one controller and thats it.

My daughter is 4. What are items that we should buy to go with it? Obviously extra contollers x 2 (Genuine?)

What games etc are really ones to have?

New super mario brothers, super mario galaxy 1 & 2, metroid pack, res evil 4 wii edition. These are all games that stood out for me on the wii, also silent hill shattered memories was very enjoyable.
As for hardware, well it's all dependent on what you want as you could spend a fortune on loads of crap controller add ons.
I would say as many official controllers + nunchuks as you need. If your mrs wants wii fit then you need a balance board but other than that I cant think of any other essential hardware except maybe a controller charger to save spending loads on batteries.

Mariokart, what a game enjoyable for all ages. Only bought for my kids a month ago its been the best game for them by far. I do enjoy super mario brothers more, but mariokart is a cracking must have game.
Would advise more controllers, but your choice how many you buy/need.
Never used non gen controller so cant comment on which to buy.

My son will also get a Wii for his birthday, what connection is in the box (SCART?) and is it any good?

you can also get a component lead for the wii which is much better quality.

The in box connection is 3 phono leads, but it does come with a scart connector too.

Just get a wii remote if you've not got on, as its a brick without, Wii Sports Resort and Super Mario Bros... That'll keep the little one busy... For Wii Sports Resort, you'll also need a motion controller add-on.
