Wii, what do i need?

There's plenty on the Wii for the little ones. My younglings can waste a rainy day on Sports Resort, Cooking Mama 2, Warioware and Mariokart among others.

There's not as much there for the seasoned gamer, but I've been challenging the missus on NBA Jam and looking forward to some GoldenEye split screen come Christmas.

I'd recommend at you get at least 2 controllers and 2 nun-chucks. The Wii MotionPlus peripheral is essential for Sports Resort. If you're feeling up to task, you could consider soft-modding the console to run the games off an external hard-disk. I did this on ours to save the kids chopping and changing DVDs and creating expensive coasters.

How do i do that please? Ta

Anyway, bought Wii Party with extra controller and carnival. Anyone recommend a good 'platform' game for daughter?

What about rechargeable batteries guys? Ordinary ones do with charger? Eneloop? Need some rechargeables.

Rechargeable batteries definitely help. I have one of the unofficial charging stands, and while its not essential, it's very handy, since you can be sure your remotes will be at full power every time you play, and none of the effort of having to remove batteries, swap them round, plug them into a charger, etc. Just slot them in next to the consoel when you're done, and leave be.

I have 8 rechargeable batteries and 2 controllers. The 4 not in use are charged up and ready to be used when needed. As soon as the old ones die I replace and charge.
Game wise I would recommend:

Trauma Centre
Wario Smooth Moves
Wii Play looks good
Super Mario Galaxy is very good.
Donkey Kong Country, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Epic Mickey look good.

Wario Smooth Moves has my kid in fits of laughter, great game for them. Young girls tend to enjoy the Dance related ones too.
