I have standby connection turned off as it stops the auto switching of scart channels when turning the wii on / off. For some reason though it won't let me look at the weather channel, saying wiiconnect24 is turned off even though it is on. The only way i can get it to work is to turn on standby connection. Anyone else have this problem?

It has to be on standby for it to be on 24/7 though doesn't it? IE: it's not WiiConnect24 if you're turning it off as it won't be on all the time. The auto-switching is a PITA though - hoping it's not a problem on component.

Component doesn't have the capabilities of auto-switching. I think you can remove Pin 8 from the scart, and it'll stop doing it.

There is an option for wiiconnect24 with a sub option for connect when on standby. As far as i'm concerned wiiconnect24 is turned on, especially as i'm only trying to access it when it is turned on. I assumed it would just do it's thing while i was playing.
