Will 1.5mm thermal pad be OK when original was 1.75mm for Ssd?

Hi, I have an Asus proart Studiobook 16. I am going to also add a new thermal pad. Asus say their thermal pad is 1.75mm I had bought a new one that is 1.5mm before I realised. I haven't added it yet but wanted to know Is this fine, as I assume the back panel needs to be very close to the thermal pad to assist with heat transfer.or don't it really matter?

I am thinking the back panel helps with the heat transfer, so I was thinking would I need best sticking with a 1.75mm if that's what asus used?

Regards
James

If they use 1.75mm than that's what you should use imo going thinner may give you poor contact , then higher temps and eventually you will have to re do it.
