Will a Bmw E46/space Saver 16 Inch wheel fit my wifes Z4? Can anyone tell me as I got no where on the BMW forum. We have changed the rear 255/35/18 to non run flats and Im torn between this used space saver or a can of "slime" and a compressor!

Check if any z4's have 16" wheels (I dont think they do) - if not its fairly unlikely. Even if they do I wouldn't like to blindly buy it

I would personally buy a pack of the diy puncture repair strips

Carry a good footpump. I've managed to get my car to a tyre shop after a puncture more often than not by simply pumping it back up :)

Fox you made us all chuckle once with your footpump (literally a footpump rather than an electric compressor :D)

Sorry, just brought back memories of us all chuckling at you pumping away on it :p

:D

Made it to the tyre shop who repaired it for a tenner, too :D

Can't stress the importance of a method to get you out of trouble. Couple of days ago I hit a scaffold clamp in the road, and it buckled the wheel badly. Let all the air out in seconds.

I was going to get rid of the spare on my car a few days earlier (tyre was in a shocking state). Glad I didn't. 2 other blokes who hit the same debris weren't man enough to change their own wheel though. Put them to shame :)

My father bought one of the cheapest z4 wheels he could find and kept that in the boot of his - obviously this vastly reduces the space available for general stuff though

 how many punctures have you had? In 12 years and 150k+ miles I've only had one and that was from driving over something in the middle of the motorway that I managed not to spot.
