Will a new router solve my network problems?

I'm on VM 152mb broadband service and am currently using their superhub 1 for both wired and wireless connections.

I have on my network PC'c, Laptops, tablets, phones and consoles. I frequently suffer dropouts and poor latency during online games. WiFi range is very poor and I'm having to reboot the superhub every couple of days.

Would something like a Asus N56U or N66U with my superhub set to modem mode solve my problems? Also is the Superhub 1 ok as just a modem or does it still cause problems?

Can't really afford more than the cost of a N66U and I've already tried to blag a Superhub 2 from VM with no luck and I really begrudge giving VM £50 for rented equipment to replace something faulty :(

Hmmm I could be wrong but doesn't VM provide the newer Superhubs for connections beyond their upto 50mbp? I'd be querying why your still running the older Superhub first.

Surprised they won't change the SH for the SH2. I rang their disconnections/retentions team and complained my WiFi signal was poor etc and they upgraded me at no cost.

But many on hear use those routers with great success. That said it depends on what's causing the trouble. I had the N66u but it didn't help my wireless distance thus narrowing down for me that some other environmental factor is at work.

I have tried on two occasions to get the SH2 but has I'm still in my contract I don't have any "disconnections" leverage :(

How good is the SH2? Which would be better - paying £50 to VM for the SH2 or £110 for the N66U and will this give me a better overhaul network than a SH2?

Btw I did have a better Wireless network when I had the previous VM modem and a older Asus router.

I have 120mb and superhub one, never used it as anything other than a modem. I have the n66u and I value it greatly, but then I use almost everything it offers.

The n56u I had before was fine and to be fair I could not say I saw any improvement in coverage.

The n66u can be often had for under £100 and the 56u ~£70

I am suprised that they won't upgrade your SH. When we had a problem with the line they just upgraded it, even though nothing was wrong with the actall hub itself.

Try phoning up again and say your canceling your contract.
