does anyone know if a Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive will work ok with Windows 7?

Yup

It would work with anything Microsoft after XP SP1 (well and Windows 2000 SP4 + patch

)

I'm running an external western digital elements 1 tb right now on win 7 pro and works fine. Turns on and off with the pc and goes into idle when not being used. Not the fastest drive but suits me for backups.

Oh yeah and their very reasonable at the moment in the newer shape caddy
