I agree with tommybhoy. The OP already has the hardware and they can trial the software to see if it works fine. It also means they can see if 3D gaming is worth the expenditure. Financially it makes the most sense.
I use IZ3D with my AMD 6990 and BenQ projector, love it![]()
A load of unnecessary rubbish...
Be warned though 3D is not for everyone and I recommend you give it a go first before splashing a wad of cash on it!
Like I said in my first post, see if you can give it a go first before spending a load of money on it just to make sure you like it.
Why didn't Nvidia simply update firmware on the glasses instead of bringing out mark 2 versions?
Because they simply want more of your cash perchance?
Still got your nickers in a twist from us having a difference of opinion in another thread, get over it already!
Get a grip wo/man
Why didn't Nvidia simply update firmware on the glasses instead of bringing out mark 2 versions?
Calm down dear, what's your problem![]()
What can you possibly bring to the table in this thread other than pure speculation and a bit of a troll?
Don't get having a go at me just because your beloved AMDs solution isn't up to par!
I imagine the iz3d software is cheaper to buy than buying Nvidias 3d glasses and compatible monitor(not knocking Nvidia's implementation of 3D gaming in any way!), plus you get a 30 day trial, so if it's not for you, then it won't cost anything.
I'm not saying Nvidia don't have the best support/implementation of 3D at all, they probably do
BTW you seem to have conveniently missed out all the negatives I stated about AMDs 3D implementation and yet again concentrated on trying to bash Nvidia with comments like this:
The first bash at Nvidia I made in the thread was in reference to my comments that all they both want is our cash, which is reflected by Nvidia fleecing more cash from it's customers by releasing new glasses, nothing else!
The thing is you don't have to buy the new glasses if you've already got the original ones. It's just an updated design that's 20% bigger so it lets a little more light in. Even Nvidias new 3D lightboost technology works fine with the original glasses. Nvidia will not be stopping support for the original glasses and even the new IR emitter will work with either sets of glasses. Can I suggest that before you come steaming into a thread trying to throw your weight around like you've done with this one you actually do a bit of research on what's being discussed! You've already stated that you have no intention of using 3D so I'm really at a loss as to why you're trying to wind people up in this thread??
Oh and as xsistor alluded to neither AMD or Nvidia are charities, they're both after your money otherwise they wouldn't still be in business! Believe it or not most businesses like to make a profit![]()
I think most agree its best to try out 3d on the hardware you have atm to see if you enjoy gaming on it. Watching 3d films is totally different to playing games so before splashing out give it a run and see what you think before wasting to much money. Either side will be fine for watching movies. If you enjoy 3d gaming then nvidia have the best solution at this current time.
