Will any temp sensor do?

My first ever loop is currently leak testing (so far so good) with deionised water later to be replaced with Mayhems fluid. I cant really afford an Aquaero just yet but i'm thinking it might be wise to add a temp sensor now anyway once i drain my loop.

Can i just get a Monsoon one or should i pay more for a bitspower or Aqua Computer one?

Thanks

Yeah they all end in the same terminating point. Personally I have a preference for inline ones, while the monsoon stuff like the bitspower stuff seems to be plug senors, but all largely provide the same function working via K type thermal couples.

I also prefer inline ones and mine are made by Phobya and have a small LCD display attached that you can place within 18 inches of the sensor.

Would you mind telling me exactly which one you have? There seems to be two different In-line sensors by Phobya and i've no idea which one I should get.

There's this one -

And this one which is labelled as "2x" -

Is the "2x" just relating to the one of the threaded parts being longer or is there some other significance?

Thanks

One is male and one is female threaded, plus different casings. I imagine the 2x means there are two sensors in that package/listing.

Mine is the same as the top one and that plug goes into a molex powered lcd display. You can also just plug it into temp sensor terminals on the motherboard if your board has them. You can then read the temp through the motherboards software or something like HWmonitor.

It’s worth noting that the standard type of temperature sensor is 10K, most are this type and will be compatible with almost all displays and controllers but I have seen some that are different types and are probably best avoided.
