Gone......
Something wierd has happened to my computer. It takes almost an hour to get through startup. No idea what's wrong. It was fine last night when I shut it down, but today go to fire it up and voile'. Utter crap.

So for now I'll be checking in every once in a while using my wife's computer, but I'm down and out on mine until I can figure out what went wrong and how to fix it, if I can afford it.....

L8trz.

If you can stand to do the drive down this way, you're always welcome round mine.

Actually that's really not a bad drive. Nice scenery.. better than going west anway..

Your an OcUK member, you should have telepathically fixed the computer before any normal person even realised it had gone wrong :p

Hit F8 during startup and use safe mode with networking / last known good configuration? Worth a shot.

Hey dude, doesn't sound like hardware. Best to back everything up and format/reinstall windows. Can't hurt to try anyway. Miss you in motors lol, peace.

Are you forgetting we have a hardware forum? ;)
Post in there if you haven't already and we'll do our best.

As mentioned, you could just leave it on and that would allow you to do some testing and keep posting.

whoa, i'd say thats broken. In my experience when i see that its down to services loading up in the background and failing.

Heh, can't keep a good overclocker down. Got home to nobody else awake, stole a few minutes on wife's computer.

When I posted this, I wasn't asking for everyone to try and help fix it, but I appreciate all the comments.

I was just letting people know why when they notice I've disappeared.....

Oh, and as to the computer, I think it's the power supply. It takes almost 5 minutes for it to get through POST, and the power LED is blinking (Gigabyte GA7N400 Pro w/ Athlon 2500M o/c'd to 3200). So I'll be getting a new power supply in the morning and trying that, especially since the wife's computer has gone through two in the last two years due to the crappy mains power we get out here (25% fluctuation in both frequency and voltage). Probably way overdue for mine to crap out on me......

Anyways, thanks for all the good words. And Crystaline, I might just take you up on that offer sometime. It gets rather boring around here and I think the rest of the family has forgotten what a REAL city looks like!! :D
