will I lose installation partition if I use dban to wipe laptop.

Hi I have a Lenovo ideapad 510. I am wanting to use dban to erase the drive and do a fresh install.

Does dban erase all partitions or would it leave the one that had the recovery files on?

Just format the drive /partition during the fresh install

DBAN will erase everything including OS and any storage attached to the computer, use it at your own risk. You can burn the ISO to a USB and should only really be used if you intend to sell/get rid of an old mechanical drive, though I believe a newer version does work with SSD.

As poster above stated, if you just want to do a fresh install then delete all the partitions during the Windows installation.
