Hello ive just bought 2x 250 gb 7200.10 seagates wich i want to use in raid 0,
but i cant seem to find a utility for windows or cd, do i really need a floppy to get into the raid utility? My mobo is a asus p5ld2 (dont have a fdd anymore)

The RAID array itself needs to be created in the RAID BIOS, there will be a display after the main BIOS screen which tells you what key combination to press to access the RAID BIOS.

If you want to boot off the RAID array then you will need a floppy to do the F6 tango during the windows install. If this is just for a storage drive on an existing machine then you'll be able to load drivers off a CD from within windows.

do you know wich button for ami bios? i never noticed anything after detecing hdd drives as it jumps to windows immdiatly after.
Also cant check now as i just blew my monitor ( writing on dads pc), so im kinda off buying a new monitor 1st, but i want to be ready to create the raid array as soon as i get a monitor.

I'd check that you have the Raid sub-system enabled in the bios and you aren't set to IDE compatability mode or similar, then during the booting sequence, after the initial bios check you will normally have about 10 seconds in which to press something to access the Raid 'bios'. For Promise Raid controllers on Asus motherboards it is usually Ctrl + F but I don't know about AMI, if indeed you do have Raid on that motherboard?

intregrated into ich7r sb chip is raid, or so ive heard, tx ill try it, i saw some ide mode indeed in bios, sry for asking noob questions

Edit: rechecked and yes mobo supports raid :
Intel ICH7R Southbridge:
- 1 x UltraDMA 100/66/33
- 4 x Serial ATA (3Gb/s)
- RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10 and Intel Matrix Storage technology.
ITE 8211F controller:
- 2 x UltraDMA 133 support four hard drives

Also, just to prvent confusion, it are sata II hdd's not ide...

my situation is:
Western digi 250 gb ide
hitachi 164.7 gb ide
maxtor 300 gb sata 150mb
2x sg baracudda 250gb 7200.10 sata 300mb wich i wnat to use in raid 0
