i have the above, but i wanted to upgrade to:
[*] 1 x Cryorig R1 Ultimate Dual Tower CPU Heatsink with 2x 140mm Fan - Black= £76.99

I've already ordered it yesterday. But today I thought, "omg, I didn't check the size!".

So I just checked the size, my case says, Maximum CPU Cooler Height: 165mm.
CPU cooler actual height: H168.3mm

3.3mm too big... reckon it'll be ok? :P

The only way it will fit is if you leave the side panel off. Don't force it on or you will damage the motherboard. This is why you should check things before ordering.

It will put a lot of pressure on the motherboard and is not worth the risk. 3.3mm is actually quite a bit when you don't have the space to begin with. I doubt if it will give you that much of a difference in temps over the beast of a Thermalright that you have already anyway. Have you tried fitting a second fan to your Thermalright?

Well, it came and I tried it. Just finished fitting it and the side panel slid on with ease. There's about 2mm of space still left between side panel and heatsink, so all is good :D
Temps are a whole 10degrees cooler on max load.

Never though about adding an extra fan to my Thermalright....

Nice decrease in temps
Yeh, I'm loving this cooler already.
I loaded a saved OC setting which had my 3.4 i5 3570k running at 4.5ghz, but with the old Thermalright cooler it was reaching temps in the mid 90s while running Prime95.
This new cooler with the same settings at 4.5ghz is reaching a max of 74 degrees. Massive improvement. (Insert McDonalds advert jingle)

thats awesome. im running a 4670k on a AIO water cooler and with a clock of 4.5ghz im getting temps around 75c+. I know the Haswells run hotter anyway but getting 75c on air is awesome.
