Will memory upgrade affect my overclock?

Hi guys,

I'm a bit a novice with all this overclocking stuff and need a bit of help. I bought one of OCUKs pre-overclocked systems at the begining of the year and given the price of memory at the mo was thinking about upgrading from 2GB to 4GB. Will this cause all my setting to default and me to loose the overclock?

Thanks,
Jamie

No it wouldn't, unless you're going to be buying slower ram than what your system currently has. Aim to get the same speed, or faster. Faster ram would be better.

What memory have you got at the moment and what are you looking to upgrade to.
In the past I have had to do a CMOS reset, and then reload all the timmings and voltages for the new memory.

If your going to run with 4 sticks you proberly need to increase your northbridge voltage and you may not get as higher overclock, but this is board and cpu dependedant.

Welcome

CLAIMED :)

As the other guys have said.If i was buying Memory now,i would buy 2 x 2GB sticks over 4 x 1GB sticks.
