Will SATA2 hard drives work with SATA enclosures?

I'm thinking of getting a sata external enclosure/cady but all the bigger hards drives now only seem to be available in sata2... will sata2 hd's work with a sata external enclosure?

Yes.

SATA2 is backwards compatible, you may need to set a jumper on the drive to get it working but normally this isn't needed.
